Marlie Mount Primary and Infant School began on the 3rd of September 1973. It is located at, Sherman Terrace, Marlie Mount, Old Harbour, St. Catherine. As the school’s motto states: “Upward, Onward, Ever High,” Marlie Mount Primary and Infant School not only caters to the academic development of its students but takes a holistic approach in the attainment of excellence from its staff and students.
The school is renowned for its academic excellence, notably by its high performance in the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) and the Grade Four Literacy and Numeracy Test resulting in students being awarded government and other scholarships. This institution also gained recognition in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) since 1982 having cupped numerous trophies and medals in dance and ring games at the national level. The Junior School Challenge Quiz is another feat that the school has embarked on with the hope to showcase the best of what the school has to offer.
